Classic Elegance meets Tradition

Thien and Guoxin's wedding weekend was a celebration that reminded me of why we get married in the first place. From their beautiful, traditional tea ceremony to their elegant candlelit dinner at the historic callanwolde fine arts center, every moment was filled with intention and warmth.

this wedding was captured using a mix of digital photography and 35 mm film.

The Tea Ceremony

A traditional tea ceremony kicked off the weekend as the couples' families exchanged blessings and offerings over tea.

Getting Ready

Callanwolde's historic halls were the perfect place for thien and guoxin to get ready and relax with their friends on their big day.

First Look

this first look at the church was one of the most emotional wedding day moments I've had the honor of documenting. By the time thien and guoxin finished reading their vows to each other, we were ALL in tears.

Ceremony

During their traditional vietnamese-catholic ceremony, Thien and Guoxin were married in the presence of their closest family and friends.

Family + Friends

thien and guoxin were surrounded by so much love and laughter from their favorite people.

Potraits

after drizzling all morning, the sky finally cleared up just in time for Thien and Guoxin's portraits. we explored Callanwolde's lush gardens and courtyard, capturing portraits all along the way. When it started raining again, we ducked inside to the beautiful grand staircase and captured some of my favorite portraits of the day.

Decor + Details

Thien and I have the same favorite color - can you guess what it is?

The Reception

this reception had everything! between the boba tea station and the dippin dots cart, my sweet tooth was tingling. thien and guoxin's friends tore up the dance floor and i enjoyed every second of it. when i wrapped up photography for the night, the dance floor was still packed, as it should be.
