Fall Wedding at Shiloh Gardens

I am a huge fan of Fur Kids, one of Atlanta's largest no-kill animal shelter and rescue networks, and when Katarina and Vivek told me that their wedding venue was a nonprofit extension of the Fur Kids world, I was SO thrilled! The beautifully restored garden was a gorgeous fall backdrop for Kat and Vivek's wedding combining western and Indian tradition.

The Mehndi Ceremony

A traditional mehndi ceremony kicked off the weekend as the couples' families joined together to celebrate and bless the couple before their wedding day. Katarina's mehndi was a beautifully intricate design with some special friends hidden inside (can you find the black cat?)

Getting Ready

Kat and Vivek spent the morning of their wedding in separate parts of the venue surrounded by their friends. As Kat was getting her hair and makeup done, her bridesmaids helped steam her dress, danced to ABBA, and made me laugh a whole lot.

First Look

Kat + Vivek wanted to take a private moment before the ceremony to be together and exchange vows. they took turns speaking from their hearts and taking in the quiet before guests began to arrive.

Potraits

kat told me that she loved traditional formal portraits so i really wanted to make sure we captured a couple seated formal portraits. the vibrant early fall foliage dappled with golden sun gave so much dimension and warmth to these portraits.

Decor + Details

These florals were some of my favorites of the year! I loved that the flowers were so expertly selected to match the venue's native landscaping and colors. and once the floral arrangements were moved inside for the reception, they brought so much life to the reception space.

The Reception

My favorite moment of this reception was hands down kat and vivek's first dance. i loved watching vivek twirl and dip kat, but i especially loved seeing their guests' reactions to the choreography. Oh and let's not forget about the cake. stunning!
